Hi, I’m Leah. I am a facilitator, teacher, and mother.

I stumbled into mindfulness practice in the early aughts with a Gaiam yoga VHS. I was 16. Every Sunday morning, I pushed in the clunky cassette, pretzeled my body into bound side angle, and soaked in the sweaty and sweet final savasana. I initially came to stretch, I returned (over and over again) as an act of homecoming. Home to myself. Home to my body. Home to my breath.

My teaching is informed by fifteen years of mindful movement and meditation practice, three robust teacher trainings, and mentorship by the brilliant Jill Satterfield. I’ve offered teachings and workshops with Brooklyn Yoga Project, Cormendi Health, and my local community in addition to private coaching. With a background in education, I bring 15 years of teaching craftsmanship to every session and workshop design.

Life has offered me many opportunities to practice. I spent five years in chronic pain and many many more navigating countless diagnoses, misdiagnoses, and the ordinary challenges of living in a human body on planet Earth. I’m a mother. Parenthood has taught me most things look better after a dance party, a hug, and time outside under a tree.

I describe my approach as “mindfulness for the everyday human and spiritual seeker.” As a creative, I love to draw on inspiration from multiple disciplines ranging from ancient sacred texts to neuroscience from poetry to Pixar films. Together in sessions, we co-create a third space where we can each explore being human together with an open heart, curiosity, and some humor. A former student once said, “you embrace each person and create a safe space for each us.” Come as you are. Messy. Beautiful. Quiet. Loud. We are meant to do this journey together.
